Anna Schmid-Peyer is a Swiss and Italian multimedia artist born in 1994 in Ticino, Switzerland.
Between 2014 and 2017 she studies Cinema, with a specialisation in Directing, at CISA, Conservatorio Internazionale per le Scienze Audiovisive, in Ticino.
Her final year’s project, a documentary called Six Stringed Soul, broadcast twice on national television.
Following her graduation in 2017, she starts working in the film industry in different roles, from production to assistant director and since 2020 she has been working as a casting director, casting assistant as well as Crowd AD.
She has her debut in Video-Art with her project Taking Off the Rose Coloured Glasses, in a self-curated exhibition in the spaces of DYNAMO in Zurich.
Since January 2024 she lives in Venice, where she attends a master course in Moving Images at IUAV.
Alongside video she is currently experimenting with sound art, tridimensional installation. Her work explores the relationship between humans, nature and technology, as well as themes of metamorphosis, the ephemeral, intimacy and the search fo identity.
